Yangliu Qingmu New Year Prints
The doll theme in "Auspicious Celebration and Surplus" is the main theme of Yangliu Youth Painting. Children represent hope from birth, and a painting conveys good wishes for their children, from safe growth to academic success, from achievements to peace and happiness. All the beautiful expectations are expressed through these auspicious elements in New Year paintings. This work is based on the existing ancient edition of Yang Liuqing Art Society, and the rearranged lines are suitable for the traditional engraving process. Based on the theoretical foundation of folk painting techniques and surviving art manuscripts, according to the artistic rules of New Year paintings, we redesigned and applied colors, and used delicate techniques in the process of technique transformation. This work differs from the color scheme of the original color manuscript and recreates the auspicious patterns in traditional New Year paintings. In the painting, there is a halberd with a jade chime hanging on it, which is homophonic for "auspicious". "Fish" and "Yu" are homophonic, symbolizing "auspicious with surplus". In addition, the design of a doll shape symbolizes auspiciousness.
